OUR FARMS

Rockwood Village

Rockwood Village Farm, a cornerstone of the Feed'em Freedom Foundation's mission, is a one-acre urban farm located within a 250-unit low-income apartment complex in East Portland. This vibrant space fosters BIPOC-led food justice and community empowerment by providing fresh produce to local food pantries, including The Storeroom at Rockwood Village, which operates every Friday. The farm features 45 garden beds for residents, empowering them to grow their own food and engage in sustainable agriculture. Additionally, Rockwood Village Farm is home to the "Flowers to the Folks" program, cultivating pollinator and cut flower gardens that support regenerative farming practices and community wellness initiatives. Through these efforts, the farm not only nourishes the body but also strengthens the connections within the Rockwood Village community.

Crops Farm

The Feed'em Freedom Foundation is developing the Black Community Food Center, an agricultural hub designed to aggregate crops from small BIPOC producers and collectively market them to food service accounts. This initiative enables farmers to scale their businesses and fosters a BIPOC-led food system and economy rooted in restorative justice.

The center will offer community access to a food pantry, commercial kitchen space, and greenhouse, serving as a venue for educational workshops and community gatherings. Additionally, the facility will feature cold and dry food storage areas, a hydroponic freight farm, and an anaerobic digester, promoting sustainable agricultural practices and innovation.

Through the Black Community Food Center, FFF aims to build community wealth by connecting small producers to institutional markets, fostering cooperative growing efforts, and creating agricultural pipelines for youth, thereby enhancing food sovereignty and economic prosperity within the community.
