ABOUT

Our History

Our Mission

The Feed'em Freedom Foundation (FFF) is dedicated to fostering resilient food systems for Oregon communities by empowering Black agriculturists to lead and own our land stewardship, regional food security, and economic prosperity. As a Black-led Regional Food Hub, we focus on sourcing from Black and Global Majority producers, ranchers, fishers, and herbalists. We do value chain coordination, creating pipelines into community sourcing, and institutional and direct markets creating economic vitality for people of the global majority. Feed’em Freedom’s food hub work includes: land access,direct-market, capacity building, aggregating and distribution, while practicing a cooperative economic model.

Our work includes a small Black-led small farm incubator, we support emerging Black farmers in growing and celebrating culturally specific ancestral foods. Our food pantry channels economic strength to our local food producers and provides culturally relevant and nutrient dense foods into the homes of families most in need. At the core of our work lies a commitment to food security and sovereignty, addressing immediate nutritional needs and the systemic inequities contributing to hunger.

Our Vision

At Feed'em Freedom Foundation, we envision a future where resilient food systems are deeply rooted in the community and led by Black agriculturists who own and drive our regional food security and economic prosperity. Through our culturally specific agricultural educational opportunities we aim to provide comprehensive hands-on instruction, mentorship, and technical assistance for small business endeavors. By fostering greenhouse management, hydroponics, and anaerobic digesting techniques, we support climate-resilient vegetable production for small-scale urban farmers.

Our food hub work focuses on bridging the gaps in food economy for local and regional Black and BIPOC producers to institutional and direct- markets that are value aligned by dismantling the industrial food complex within Oregon’s agricultural system, we strive to build a resilient and sustainable food system that nourishes and uplifts our community.
